Hi Joanna! My name is Kari and I go to a church in Grand Rapids, MI that supports Dick and Donna. I have been writing letters back and forth with Donna for since I was about 8 (I’m 16 now!), and I recently became a member of the Missions Team at my church. In a couple of weeks, the Missions Team is putting together some displays about missionaries that the church supports, so I hope it’s OK for me to lift some of the awesome pictures you have on here for the “Swart display” (like the family and landscape pictures). I pray for God’s abundant blessings on all of you even as I type this, and whenever you get the chance to read this comment! 🙂

What neat pictures! Love that bird!!! What is it called? Enjoy looking at the pictures of Dick and Donna! How they love their grandchildren!! They are really lucky to have you close (except for now as you travel the US)

Hi Debby! It’s a kingfisher. Grey-headed kingfisher, I believe. Thanks so much for your encouragement on here. A blessing.

Hi, Joanna! Caleb just left our church (Parkside Community, Westwood, NJ) a couple of hours ago. Just wanted to know how blessed I was watching the dvd and the pictures, and how you guys just give yourselves to the Daasanech Tribe, helping them in their needs, even at 2 am! I will continue to pray for Caleb as he translates short stories from the Bible to the indigenous language, hoping that one day, the native people will know and experience God’s eternal love for each one of them. May God continue to bless your entire family with great health, love, joy and strength as you continue to do God’s ministry work in Ethiopia!

Hi Maricel! Thank you, so much, for this sweet note. And–Caleb returned home with a bag stuffed full of the things that you sent for our kids. Thank you isn’t adequate! What a gift for us, for you to love on our kids like that. Thank you for your heart and generosity.
